Welcome to my Soap Box! I've decided to join the throng of bloggers who believe that there may be those out there that actually read what others post on the web. I must give credit to my older brother for generating my interest and desire to finally create my own blog. Check out his blog (The Colonel's Corner) for a truly good read.
Just a little about me...
Like my older brother, I'm a retired military officer, having spent 20 years in the US Air Force. He chose the Marine Corps, I chose the saner service. In all honesty, I have the greatest respect for him and all Marines!
I'm a Christian, proud of my family and country, and stand firmly on the right side of the political aisle! I believe that it is past time for like minded individuals to say "enough is enough", and take a stand for our country, it's core values, and it's future! For too long we have stood by and let the left pick apart the ideals that this nation was founded upon. We've allowed a vocal minority to hijack the course of our nation and society. It's time to stop watching from the side lines and shaking our heads when we see our nation and way of life being challenged and torn apart. It may be a cliche, but it's worth repeating..."If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem." Become involved! What does it say for our future if more people can name the latest "American Idol", but can't name our Vice President, Secretary of State, or their congressman! Let's take our eyes off of American Idol, Survivor, Super Nanny, and all the other useless drival on the TV, and open our eyes the course our nation is on! If you don't like what you see, do something about it! Vote.
It has begun.

Nice start, Little Brother! Now to get Dad started blogging!
I never knew the Gregory boys were so politically minded. I met Bruce in the, what, 10th grade, and once met Ed while in high school.
Bruce, it's been years and who'd have guessed we still have so much in common. I can proudly say I have never watched a single episode or know the name of a single winner of "American Idol". You're comments about shaking heads and not getting involved are so true. I guess what most folks don't realize is that getting involved needs to begin at the local level and not just at the national level. Mayor, city councils, school boards, etc. And, as the old cliche goes, don't complain if you didn't make the effort to vote.
Bruce and I are proud alumni of Mississippi State unlike Ed who chose the northern university in the state. So, from an old friend who stays in Texas and raises 3 kids and 2 bulldogs, great blog. Well written and excellent points.
Take care.
