The New IED?

Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED) .GIVE ME A BREAK!

Now all you road ragers out there have a new excuse you can use to "explain" your stupidity on the nation's highways and byways. If you have not seen it in the news, Harvard Medical researchers say that as many as 16 million of us suffer from IED, and that it could explain why so many people experience road rage.

Now I'm no Harvard scholar, but my parents, four years at that fine institution of higher learning in Starkville, MS (Mississippi State University), and 20 plus years of military service have instilled in me a pretty good BS detector. So when I read this report about IED, the BS meter went off the chart! This is just one more example of "researchers" with too much free time on their hands coming up with another disorder for people to pin their behavior on, and claim "it's not my fault, I have IED." Whatever happened to personal responsibility? We've become a nation of excuse makers!

If you screw up, whether it be at work, on the ball field, on the road, or with you own family, admit your mistake and take responsibility for your actions! Don't say, "it's not my fault, I have a chemical imbalance."

The real IEDs are those nasty roadside surprisess that our enemies are killing our troops with in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Intermittent Explosive Disorder. GIVE ME A BREAK! Hear that beeping sound? That's your BS meter going off.

It Has Begun

Welcome to my Soap Box! I've decided to join the throng of bloggers who believe that there may be those out there that actually read what others post on the web. I must give credit to my older brother for generating my interest and desire to finally create my own blog. Check out his blog (The Colonel's Corner) for a truly good read.

Just a little about me...

Like my older brother, I'm a retired military officer, having spent 20 years in the US Air Force. He chose the Marine Corps, I chose the saner service. In all honesty, I have the greatest respect for him and all Marines!

I'm a Christian, proud of my family and country, and stand firmly on the right side of the political aisle! I believe that it is past time for like minded individuals to say "enough is enough", and take a stand for our country, it's core values, and it's future! For too long we have stood by and let the left pick apart the ideals that this nation was founded upon. We've allowed a vocal minority to hijack the course of our nation and society. It's time to stop watching from the side lines and shaking our heads when we see our nation and way of life being challenged and torn apart. It may be a cliche, but it's worth repeating..."If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem." Become involved! What does it say for our future if more people can name the latest "American Idol", but can't name our Vice President, Secretary of State, or their congressman! Let's take our eyes off of American Idol, Survivor, Super Nanny, and all the other useless drival on the TV, and open our eyes the course our nation is on! If you don't like what you see, do something about it! Vote.

It has begun.
